Highlights of our "late" night in the city. (Late means 9:30 pm arrival back at the hotel)
1. Listening to a live band play Coldplay at "Reggae Cafe and Bar" in Thamel
2. Witnessing a homeless person drink a customer's entire soda when he isn't looking
3. Saria getting asked if she "wants a lady tonight.".....OMG
4. Seeing multiple totally stoned people out. People seriously lose their minds here when they've stayed too long.
A bit disturbing:
Seeing a girl who doesn't look like she's hit puberty yet at the bar accompanied by an older man. Who is the man? Her father? Inappropriate. Someone else? Likely. Apparently child prostitution is high in Nepal. It made us really uncomfortable seeing a little girl at this bar with drinking and smoking all around her. It's hard to not think about the harsh realities of the world and to just enjoy yourself when you see crazy stuff happening all around you...
