Everything I thought It Would Be

Nameste! We landed in Kathmandu yesterday and my what a difference this place is! Yesterday, we strolled around Thamel to do window-shopping to compare prices and quality with Dhaka's shops. We noticed two things--there were tons of tourists (there are none in Dhaka) and that this is the off-season so the shopkeepers are ready to sell at whatever fair price you offer them. The stuff here is SO NICE and everything is "made in nepal", not "made in china" like half of Dhaka. I didn't buy much yesterday except for a few pashminas because we're leaving that till the latter half of the trip. Saria, thank God, is feeling much better today...she was feeling nauseus the past two days. Today we're off to explore the Hindu and Buddhist temples of Kathmandu!
