Urologists are known for having interesting personalities....after all, they are the docs/surgeons of the urogenital tract. Some of my favorites from this week:
"They look different out of bed"
-Chief resident when she didn't recognize one of our patients who was walking around the ward
"I can definitely help you get an erection."
-Attending to a paraplegic patient (MVA survivor) when telling her he can't get erections anymore
"What is that in his upper inner thigh? A gigantic skin tag? A lipoma? Should I take it off???" "No! Leave it alone--its probably his lucky charm."
-A resident asking the attending before doing a prostatic resection and her answer.
many more but im forgetting now....maybe because im exhausted from working from 5 am to 7 pm....
